From Abu Jabir Abdullah Penabdul
We all are dying sooner or later. My sincere admonishment is as follows
I begin with the Name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Please, always focus on the pleasure of Allaah when doing anything because once you are dead, nothing matters again except that which you did for the sake of Allaah. May Allaah grant us all the ability to do righteous deeds for His sake.
Let your motivation be that which motivated the best of people - the Sahabah (RA) - They desired good for everyone that they came in contact with. They did that, having the ultimate desire of attaining Allaah's pleasure. They had little formalities in their lives. They were nice and humble with no red tapes except those of Shariah.
The loud yet silent voice of death all around us that keeps hitting on our eardrums is a blessing for those that will heed the advice given by death. Do good before you are gone. Leave evil before you are gone. And you simply can go now. So the time to be pious is NOW.
The Prophet SAW has given us a sufficient dose of the spiritual pill that will stabilize us against the intoxication of this worldly life. He (SAW) said: "أَكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَ هَاذِمِ اللَّذَّاتِ يَعْنِي الْمَوْتَ
“Remember often the destroyer of pleasures,” by which he meant death. Sunan at-Tirmidhi
Everyone of us wants to live a lovely life, to die an enviable death and to be blessed with a favorable decision of being in Paradise. Those who live by remembering death prepare best for it.
In this world, we all will die having so many unfulfilled desires, unachievable hopes and probably unremitting sadness. While in Jannah, we all -may Allaah make us in- will have all that we desire and even more. Kindly focus more on what is certain (when we exert utmost effort towards Jannah we gain it) than that which is uncertain (we might gain the world or not even if we exert the utmost effort).
Try as much as you can to live a very fulfilling life by standing for the truth that Islam calls for no matter what. Also, be nice to people and be nice to yourself. Direct your passion and commitment to that which will draw you closer to Allaah. Our death is no novelty.
If anyone of us should die today, will we be confident to face the two angels in the grave and answer them in the light of Qur'an and Sunnah with regards to our Lord, our Religion and Prophet Muhammad SAW? The time to use Islam as the only yardstick for our lives is now while we are still alive.
What comes after death is the actual thing to worry about. Use your knowledge, use your wealth, use your strength and authority to secure the pleasure of Allaah. Whatever Allaah has blessed you with, use it to serve Allaah and be humble and hope for His unending reward.
Hani the freed slave of Uthman b Affan (RA) narrated that each time grave was mentioned, Uthman (RA) will weep and he was asked why and he said because the Prophet SAW said grave is the first of the Hereafter's domicile.... If it is bad whatever comes after it will be worse.
Fighting with people is worthless. Fighting for the truth is worthy. The truth here means Qur'an and Sunnah. Hence, kindly reconcile your differences with those you had misunderstandings with. People are dying everyday and you could be next.
May Allaah grant us good end and forgive all believing men and women that have preceeded us.
