Appearance and reality
When I look at the Muslims I see an image of religiosity
When I listen to them I hear the sounds of piety
When I meet them I meet an embodiment of spirituality
Yet, in the shadow of this religiosity my sight sees animosity
Yet, in the echo of the sound of piety my ear hears apathy
Yet, in the strength of spirituality lies weakness in character
What's religiosity without mannerism
What's speech without pietism
What's appearance without witticism
Ours is a spiritual society that’s ill-mannered
Ours is a godly society that’s ungodly
Ours is a vocal society that’s inactive
We'll excel if we decorate spirituality with exalted character
If we crown talks with planned actions
If we say "Peace be upon you” sincerely
